Position Description

Overview

Moosomin Baptist Church is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team as a full time Associate Pastor with a specific focus on youth ministry. While the main focus will be on youth and their families, the Associate Pastor will function as a part of the pastoral team and will be expected to serve in a pastoral capacity for the entire church body.

The ideal candidate will be committed to nurturing the spiritual growth and development of our youth, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community, and equipping them to live out their faith everyday. This role will involve leading and coordinating various youth programs, discipleship activities, and outreach initiatives to engage young people aged 12 to 18 and their families. The Associate Pastor would also provide oversight and resourcing to (though not necessarily direct involvement with) the Children’s Ministry team.

Community

Moosomin Baptist Church is located in Moosomin Saskatchewan, a diverse, scenic, growing town on Highway 1 near the Manitoba border. When people visit Moosomin they always comment that there are many more amenities than they expected, as well as how close knit and welcoming people here are. Moosomin's population skews young with many young professionals starting their careers here. As a result, the opportunity for reaching children and youth is enormous.

Our church reflects the demographics of our community with many young families and lots going on. As a Jesus centered church of roughly 100-120 people, we value the differences within our church family and community and believe that they make us stronger. We are very active in the community with our building in constant use for church programming and community events.

Position Terms

Full-time, permanent Compensation: negotiable dependant on education and experience and in accordance with denominational and regional comparables. MBC is committed to compensating our staff fairly and, if the situation warrants, creatively. Assistance with housing and/or tuition (for those pursuing) could also be negotiated as part of compensation. Full Benefits and Pension, vacation time, and sick days provided in line with MBC policy.

If this church and community sound like somewhere you might see yourself serving, we encourage you to reach out with questions or clarifications.

Qualifications

A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a personal and growing relationship with Him. Theological education in Theology, Christian Ministry, or a related field is preferred, though not required. Candidates currently pursuing, or planning to pursue, theological education are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in youth ministry leadership or a related role is highly desirable.
