Position Description

About Us:

Redeemer Alliance Church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada (C&MA) and are situated in the suburb of Orléans in Ottawa.

Our Vision: To be a community of believers committed to reaching Orléans for Christ.

We are a supportive, friendly staff team committed to unity and love as the center of our interactions. We are searching for a person who agrees with our Vision, Mission and Values here at RAC (see our website) and will lead our Next Generation Ministry into further growth and development.

As a church, we are actively seeking to further the Kingdom of God in our community of Orléans, which is a suburb of the city of Ottawa. We believe that God is at work in us right now to help transform our surrounding community as we seek to lead people, through the power of the Holy Spirit, into a loving, life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ. We engage our neighbours in a variety of ways so that we can bless our community and increase our opportunities to share the love of Jesus with them.

This candidate should be able to lead and collaborate in a team effectively, while also being able to lead independently as required. The ideal candidate would be a person who loves people, is prayerful for the will of God, embraces change, is approachable and compassionate, as well as being professional. They will work as a member of the leadership team, consisting of pastoral and administrative staff, and many volunteer leaders.

Next Generation Associate They oversee all ministry areas that impact the next generation within the church. Our Children’s Ministries Programs (RedeemerKIDS) are from Nursery to Age 12 including Sunday, mid-week (ie. AWANA), seasonal (ie. summer camps), and special programs (ie. Community support and connection events).

Our Youth Ministries Programs (RedeemerYOUTH) are from age 13 to 19 including Midweek, seasonal and special programs.

They Will:

  • Champion the village. Competing interests within church ministries can put stress on parents and can create confusion. The Next Gen pastor inspires staff and volunteers to avoid age-group silos.
  • Fight for aligned birth – high school strategy. The “guardian of the DNA” for our Next Generation, the candidate supports and protects an overarching purpose and strategy, so all age groups are working toward a common goal.
  • Lead a team of leaders. Champion family ministry to senior leadership and cast vision down to all members of the team. They need to have a heart for leadership development and the skills to supervise and manage people as well as get their feet wet and do it themselves as needed.
  • Support a pro-family culture. Any role focused on all age groups must naturally need to also focus on the entire family. This doesn’t just mean kids—it means their parents too. Aligning the Next Gen ministry means partnering with families to help them succeed.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Work independently and collaboratively with the leadership team and volunteers in the facilitation, oversight, and leadership of Redeemer Alliance Church's Next Generation programs (ages 0-18) inclusive of Childrens and Youth Ministries.
  • Curate, prepare and distribute biblical, engaging curriculum/content for age relevant learning abilities and interest.
  • Recruit, support, and schedule volunteers for Next Generation Ministries.
  • Help create online engagement with Next Generation Ministries via digital/social media outreach presence.
  • Plan and request annual budgetary requirements and then execute budgetary allocation, ensuring to remain within the limits provided.
  • Provide opportunity for exploration of gifts, calling, and passion.
  • Be available to counsel students and leaders, stepping into difficult discussions that are beyond the capability of volunteers and leaders.
  • Establish goals and objectives for the spiritual development of the Next Gen (including spiritual disciplines and leadership opportunities)
  • Other duties as gifted and/or assigned by Lead Pastor

Hours of Employment and Compensation: Full Time Permanent with Benefits after Probationary Period. Salary Range:37-45k subject to C&MA Salary Grid, offer letter, and RAC policies and procedures.
