Position Description

LBCM Koinonia Camp is about creating a Godly and stimulating environment for our young people to learn and play together. We want to see our young people motivated by an invigorating journey that focuses on personal and leadership development. Young people will experience engaging activities and amazing Bible stories. (“Train a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6)).

LBCM Koinonia has 2 tracks: Children Track and Leadership Track. The Children Track focuses on helping children develop healthy social-emotional skills. In a child-friendly and fun environment, children will learn how to interact with other people, and understand and control their own emotions.

In the children track, we are hiring the following position:

Job Title: Children Track Bible and Character Building Staff

Number of positions available: 1

Commitment: July 2-August 16, 2019 (35 Hours).

Where: Logos Baptist Church (Milliken) 133 Old Kennedy Rd. Markham, ON L3R 0L5.

Important Information

This position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program with funding provided by Service Canada. Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered:

- is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment.
- is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
- have a valid Social Insurance number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Position Description: The Bible and Character Building Staff will use Biblical principles to teach children about different Character Building themes. The activities and lessons should teach children the character trait, why they should have it, and how they can practice it. Furthermore, the staff will also build relationship with the children and actively assist in other assigned camp activities and duties.

Job Description:

- Plan, develop and execute lesson plans/programs that will engage different age groups in their understanding and application of the Character Building themes.

- Find and manage resources within a budget.

- Actively supervise and build relationship with children during other camp activities and assigned duties.

- Attend briefing and debriefing sessions on time.

- Assist with the tidying of camp facilities each day.


- Must be a born again Christian.

- Passionate and knowledgeable about the Bible and the Character Building themes.

- Enthusiastic about teaching children.

- Great attention to safety.

- Patience when teaching children specific skills.

- Ability to plan and carry out a structured program within a team.

- Ability to plan and execute tasks with little supervision.

- Effective communication and teaching skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and team spirit: ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve optimal results.

- Teachable, humble, and carries an attitude of selflessness and servanthood.

- Emergency first aid training: Current First Aid & CPR certification.
