Position Description

The Campus Church is a community of Christ followers learning to love and serve God and people.  We are a contemporary multi-site church who values excellence in pointing people to the life transforming power of Jesus. We currently serve the communities of Aurora, Newmarket, East Gwillimbury and Bradford.  Our vision is to be one Church in multiple campuses, sharing mission and statement of faith. Each campus is uniquely equiped to meet the demographic and cultural needs of its community with the good news of Jesus.  Our mission is to draw people to Christ as saviour; learn from him as teacher; follow him as lord; and live for him with purpose

Reporting to: Lead Pastor and Elder’s Board

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and provide year-round pastoral oversight and leadership to the Worship Audio/Visual and Communications ministries.

Plan, prepare and lead worship that ...

a) provides an atmosphere of modern worship within each service for a multi-generational congregation,

b) engages people in meaningful and balanced Christ-centered worship

c) is complementary to the preaching ministry.

Reinforce the vision of the church ensuring that the worship ministry is in accord and harmony with that vision and complements the vision.

Develop, train, equip and mentor key leaders in the Worship and Creative Arts Ministry. This would include worship leaders, vocalists, instrumentalists, audio/visual technicians and other artists as needed.

Be cognizant and informed as to contemporary trends, styles and songs in worship so as to be discerning of the direction that the Holy Spirit is leading His church.

Ensure that the worship centre, platform and audiovisual booth are prepared for worship, that they are clean, tidy and set up appropriately.

As appropriate and able, be a visible, supportive, participating presence in all major church functions.

Provide one-to-one ministry as appropriate and needed.

Participate in weekly staff meetings and training activities.

Actively participate in helping to carry the load of general pastoral responsibilities as directed by the Lead Pastor.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Give evidence of a maturing Christian life, including the manifestation of Christlike character, a servant heart, a shepherd’s heart, the exercise of personal spiritual disciplines, and a commitment to serving Christ in His Kingdom.

Possess a passionate heart for Christ and pastoral and family ministry.

Maintain a healthy personal, marital, family and social life.

Proven experience in the area of music, worship and creative arts ministry

Possess strong interpersonal skills.

The ability to work with adults and youth in the area of team building.

A team player, respecting and supporting fellow staff/colleagues, the leadership of the church, volunteers and the Board of Elders.

Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work with a minimum of supervision.

Demonstrate innovative leadership

Strong communication, coaching and organisational skills.

Support the Constitution and Statement of Faith of The Campus Church.

Be or become a member of The Campus Church

Participate in the AGC credentialing process to obtain ministry accreditation within the Associated Gospel Church of Canada.

A university degree is an asset or equivalent training or experience within the worship or audio/visual sector.
