Position Description

Program Assistant

Lindenwood is a faith-based ministry focused on helping residents change their lives through the delivery of a year-long program.  The Program Assistant will be a committed and enthusiastic counsellor in our Christ-centered home for young men aged 18-25 years desiring help with lifestyle changes.  The main focus of the Program Assistant will be to guide the men toward becoming healthy, responsible, and accountable godly men.  The Program Assistant will be provided with room (onsite bedroom) and board.   He will directly assist  the Program Leader & House Parents, and is required to sign agreement with Lindenwood's statement of faith.


The Program Assistant will help administer the curriculum for Lindenwood's residents and contribute to it being  a safe, loving, Christian environment for them to learn healthy lifestyles.

Their responsibilities include:

Providing evening supervision and some weekend  coverage

Participating in the intake process for residents

Teaching some life skills subjects as required

Participate when required in recreational and chapel activities

Reviewing and maintaining resident progression reports

Qualifications & Competencies

Applicant should be a mature responsible individual with a sense of mission and should be familiar with the information on our website

As well they should have:

Strong communication skills, both written and vocal

Ability  to be flexibile, versatile, and tolerant in a changing environment

Training and/or experience with non-violent conflict resolution methods

A good sense of humour, some musical talent and the ability  to emphasize with the residents

Have completed courses in a Social Work/ Mental Health/ Pastorial Training program

Have prior volunteer work experience with at risk youth

Valid driver's license and clean abstract

Current CPIC, enhanced to include Vulnerable Populations

Current First Aid and CPR certification

Candidate can maintain an off site job or be enrolled in educational courses

Compensation:-  To be negotiated. Please include your remuneration expectations.

This is a contract position with opportunity for renewal, subject to evidence of overall performance and suitability.

Lindenwood is an adult care facility for 6 young men, 18-25 years old situated on 75 acres between Owen Sound and Wiarton
