Job Title: Sound Technician
Department: Mississauga Campus
Immediate Supervisor: Campus Pastor
Works Closely With Worship Pastor, Campus Pastor, Various worship Leaders, Pastoral Coordinator.
Purpose (Essential Functions): Produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This includes, but is not limited to, creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey and supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service. Manage and maintain all sound equipment to the highest standard and serve all the audio needs of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Overseeing audio at live events.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 1. Maintenance, and operation of all production facilities and equipment . Maintain and take responsibility for all audio equipment, sourcing replacements when necessary; ensuring excellence and consistency in sound quality. 2. Setup audio equipment and stage ahead of musicians arrival. 3. Perform complete sound checks and mixing of monitors, before and during each event. Working to provide all band members with the best possible monitoring. 4. Work with worship Pastor to plan each event and ensure the worship team are completely prepared. 5. Mix the Front of House (FOH) sound with excellence and an attitude to constantly improve and perfect the mix. 6. Recording of events, both musical and speech. 7. Ensuring all technical elements of the church service or event are transparent and running at optimal levels. 8. Tear-down and cleaning of all production areas after events. 9. Liaising with leaders after each event to discuss areas for improvement and ensure we have provided optimal service. 10. Create a professional and excellent environment at all times. Qualifications: 1. Excellent people skills and ability to communicate well. 2. Comprehensive knowledge and experience with live sound equipment. 3. Excellence in live audio mixing. 4. Good understanding of audio recording and production. 5. Degree in Live Audio Production (or similar) or other certification or studying to be a sound technician. 6. Industry experience in live audio production. 7. Familiarity with the Beringer digital mixer would be beneficial. 8. Familiarity with line-array style sound systems and processors would be beneficial. 9. Excellent hearing, for judging sound quality. 10. A good sense of pitch, timing and rhythm. 11. A knowledge of electronics and acoustics. 12. Ability to teach and train others in live sound. 13. Ability to cope with long hours and tight deadlines 14. Willingness to grow and adapt to suit the demands of the job.
Working Conditions: Probation Period: 90 Days
Hours of Work: 6 Hours / Week
