Position Description

Role Purpose:

To contribute to the growth of ministries at SMSK, through managing the administration for church events and initiatives,  coordinating volunteers, and resource preparation. The role will report directly to Father John, priest at SMSK. 

Key Responsibilities :

  • Answers telephone calls directed to the priest's office and screens calls as appropriate
  • Serves as gatekeeper to the priest's, while ensuring people are helped/served in a friendly and Christ centered manner
  • Reviews and prioritizes telephone messages for the priest's
  • Makes telephone calls for the priest's, as directed
  • Makes appointments for the priest's, while redirecting those appointments that can be appropriately handled by another pastoral staff member
  • Enters meetings, conferences, and church-wide activities onto the calendar at the senior the priest's request
  • Provides the priest's with updated daily, weekly, monthly and yearly calendars
  • Handles all travel plans and preparation for speaking engagements
  • Aids in preparation for meetings through the production of documents, handouts, reports, meals, reminders, etc., as requested by the priest
  • Ensure that first-time visitors and new members are followed up.
  • Other duties as assigned

$14/ hour-$16/hour. 

Working hours and location:

It will be required for the first 30 days from your start date to work from the church's location, at 557 Bathurst St., from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Mon-Fri. After the completion of the first 30 days, working hours and location can flexible and negotiable. This opportunity is on a contract basis.
