Position Description

MCF Canada Executive Director

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, fundraising, donor relations and programs of the organization. Other key duties include marketing and strategic planning. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.


Key responsibility is to expand the reach of MCF Canada by developing support from new donors, churches, foundations and teams. This will be done largely through personal one-on-one communication, such as phone calls, meeting together over coffee etc. This type of communication requires integrity, courage, confidence and above all, respect for the donor.

Maintain good relationships with and provide regular updates for existing donors, churches and foundations.

Development and execution of successful Marketing Plans.

Responsible for leading MCF Canada in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.

Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

Responsible for the fiscal integrity of MCF Canada including submission to the Board a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.

Responsible for the MCF Canada website and social media.

Encourage churches/individuals to organize Mission teams to MCF Kenya.

Some travel required across Canada and to Kenya.


Good computer skills.

Good accounting skills an asset.


A committed Christian, willing and able to share their faith.

Possess a deep commitment to missions, specifically to MCF.

An involved member of a local church.

Transparent and high integrity leadership.

Ability to interface well with and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups from all walks of life and cultures, especially Kenyans and Canadians.

Mature, self-motivated and humble.



University degree or a college diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years in a related leadership role.
Prior visit to or experience with MCF Kenya is an asset.


Salary based on experience and qualifications.

NOTE: June is a transition period during which the office will move from Collingwood to the GTA. This will involve some temporary commuting to Collingwood to learn from the current ED and office staff (one or two days per week, as needed).
