Position Description

Job Title: Facilities Manager Purpose: The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations and functions of the church building, grounds, Heritage House and church vehicles. She/he will develop and manage a facilities team [both staff and volunteers] in order to ensure that cleaning, maintenance and required repairs are completed to guarantee safe, accessible and secure facilities in a timely fashion, and that all work is conducted in a safe and effective manner. Reports to: Operations Team Lead Responsibilities: • Manage the facilities staff [custodians, receptionists and securities] directing them daily to meet maintenance needs and ministry needs • Develop facilities department procedures and standards for the staff and volunteers • Develop a strong volunteer team that works in connection with the facilities staff • Develop and manage maintenance schedules for all building, equipment, and grounds • Manage the online schedule/work order system that is fluid between staff and the facilities team • Hire, Train and develop facilities staff to share the work load of maintaining the facilities • Oversee room bookings and address any schedule conflict in timely manner • Maintain and manage qualified vendors and contractors to perform maintenance and repairs with quality work on our properties in timely manner • Oversee janitorial services for APC Campus, Heritage House, and grounds services [landscaping, snow removal, parking lot, exterior of buildings] • Work with Operations Team Lead to create, monitor, and execute the annual budget pertaining to the facilities • Closely observe all utilities costs [gas, electric, water, sewer, etc.] and contracts to determine any unusual patterns and determine ways to save costs • Manage closely the fire alarm and building alarm systems to ensure proper functioning • Train facilities staff and key volunteers to operate these systems during ministry events • Manage and assign all keys and fobs for building doors and access points • Interface with the Health and Safety team to provide training for facilities staff and other key staff for worker safety procedures • Work with Operations Team Lead and Security Team to understand and help employ the building surveillance camera system and Emergency Response Programs for all ministries and departments • Develop and manage a response plan for inclement weather [snow removal, flooding etc.] • Accountable for facilities projects assigned by Operations Team Lead and to ensure a timely completion within budget • Plan and manage replacement of major capital expense items such as HVAC system, roof systems and parking lot surfaces. • Ensure adherence to building and grounds use codes from related municipal and regulatory agencies • Manage proper inventory of facilities materials and supplies • Manage and maintain church vehicles and keep a record of users • Perform all other duties assigned by Operations Team Lead Requirements: • Minimum of High School Diploma and 3-5 years in related field • Knowledge of basic HVAC, electrical, mechanical functions and health and safety of a large non-residential building • Proficiency in basic carpentry, related construction and maintenance experience • Good organizational and planning skills and a demonstrated ability to lead other employees and volunteers • Highly motivated and able to work independently • Minimum 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings. • Ability to negotiate with contractors and vendors for facility needs • Available and on call for emergencies • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) and email • Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets • Proficiency in both written and spoken English Work Conditions • Physical ability to lift up to 75lb. • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc • Overtime as required • Hazards associated with the trade • Work both indoors and outdoors Work Schedule: 40 hours per week [Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday] © Copyright Agincourt Pentecostal Church
