Position Description

Canada Summer Jobs: Summer Student

Job Title: Computer IT and Audio Visual Support Person

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Any student who is enrolled in a recognized education program for this coming fall 2017 (going back to school after the summer)
  • Must be between 18-30 years old
  • Be willing to abide by Spring Garden Church values, and code of conduct

Hourly Wage: $12/hr

Hours: 40 hours / week

Start Date: After May 29th, 2017

Duration: Summer job from May - August (12 weeks)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Set up computers, and AV for staff and volunteers at Spring Garden Church (SGC)
  • Provide IT support, troubleshoot computer related problems for the staff, volunteers and participants of SGC programs
  • Identify computer related issues and concerns, and develop and implement solutions
  • Teach and train people how to use computer systems and applications
  • Process audio and video recordings for use on website or internal use
  • Set up Rock RMS for Discipleship Ministry check-in and future expansion
  • Design and publish handbooks, informational material on computer and IT systems
  • Programming automated scripts for repetitive administrative tasks
  • Assist in the summer camp program at SGC (July) (to be employed for the maximum hours, the student should be eligible to be cross-appointed to work with SGC children's ministry summer day camp in July)

Qualifications

  • Proficient with computers
  • Fast learner, or prior knowledge of Windows Server, and Ubuntu Linux server
  • Adept at G-Suite (Google Apps), Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to problem solve (trouble shoot computer and IT problems)
  • Ability to work independently and takes initiative
  • Ability to work in a team with others
  • Programming skill (JavaScript, PowerShell, BASH, PHP,.NET) is NOT required, but highly desired
