Position Description

The Mustard Seed provides basic services - food, clothing and housing, and support services – education and employment, to those living in poverty within Alberta.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lease and Finance Coordinator position plays an important role in supporting the effective and efficient leadership of the Manager of Facilities position in Edmonton. This position supports the Facilities Manager by providing a high level of confidential assistance and maintaining effective communication with all sections of facility operations for The Mustard Seed Edmonton.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set the atmosphere of the Manager of facilities office:
o Liaise with and ensure timely and accurate response to inquiries and requests from staff, volunteers, donors, community participants, agencies and other stakeholders
o Act as a contact for internal and external resources requesting meetings or communication with the Manager of Facilities
o Manage and maintain the Manager of Facilities files
• Coordinate, schedule and attend meetings as requested by the Manager of Facilities
• Compile data and information for The Mustard Seed Edmonton’s reporting
• Ensure expenses and invoices are coded properly
• Prepare correspondence, reports, or documentation as required
• Develops peer relationships and networks with internal staff to improve communication and procedures
• Assist Facilities Manager in the development of maintenance plans; property management, leases and finances
• Develop reports as needed and execute special projects of the Manager of Facilities
• Maintain SALTO System and keys

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Demonstrated ability to compose effective business correspondence in an efficient manner
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative and exercise discretion in determining priorities
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office products
• Previous office experience is necessary
• Must poses a high degree of tact
• Ability to work with confidential information
• Organized with high attention to detail
• Possess a basic knowledge of finance;
• Effective verbal communication skills

OTHER INFORMATION

• This role is primarily an office position.  Occasional travel may be required to other locations
• Part-time, hourly position 10 hours per week
• Driver’s Abstract and Employment Security Check is required
• As The Mustard Seed is a Christian ministry, we require our employees to be in agreement and to sign our statement of faith
