Position Description

DESCRIPTION

Agincourt Baptist Church is seeking to hire a part time administrative coordinator to promote and facilitate engagement with our Church’s social media accounts, weekly worship services and other events.  The successful candidate will be passionate about Jesus, have a commitment to serve through the church, and motivated to compete projects, engage people on a persona level and facilitate the experience of hospitality by Church members and visitors.

The job has two main components both of which are key to the growth and engagement of our church.  The candidate will demonstrate strong administrative skills and awareness of the need for confidentiality.  The duties will be reflective of a church administrator including preparation of weekly bulletin, correspondence, reports, maintaining church records, and any other related tasks assigned by the pastors or ministry leaders.  Communications relates to written and visual media as well as strong telephone. Our successful candidate will be a Christian and available to work 20 hours per week, 9:00 am. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Two or more years experience in church or related administrative environment.  The Church welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fluent in written and spoken English. A second language would be an asset.

Answering phones
Greeting visitors
Responding to emails

Friendly and outgoing, energetic and self-motivated
At ease with social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat

Create and promote events/content on social media

Creative

Create engaging and attractive media including

Power Point announcement slides
Social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat)
Creative content for use in the service or other church programs
Designing promotional banners
Designing bulletin boards
Church website content (training is available)

Curate and edit content of Connect Magazine, in partnership with other staff

Organized and able to complete administrative tasks

Prepare, print and fold weekly bulletin for worship service
Prepare announcement slides
Order necessary office supplies
Print documents as needed
Help with preparing mailings as needed
Maintain congregational directory

Working with a team and able to complete tasks and projects independently

Hours include attendance at a weekly planning meeting on Tuesday mornings and biweekly staff fellowship on Friday mornings

PREFERRED SKILLS

This position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office specifically Publisher, PowerPoint, and Access, e-mail as well as familiarity with the Internet.  The candidate should be a self-starter with excellent people skills, the ability to multi-task as well as work independently.  Strong telephone skills are a must.  Fluency in English both written and verbal
