Position Description

YOUNG ADULT CAMPUS INTERN 

POSITION PURPOSE

To help lead our Young Adult Ministry on the Sheridan Oakville Campus, providing an effective ministry to students that develops disciple-makers. This will involve helping organize and lead ministry objectives and building strong relationships with students of all beliefs and backgrounds. 

TIME COMMITMENT: 10 hrs per week

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Weekly Small Group Meeting

  • Assist in development of weekly small group material, deciding on what curriculum / video series to use and discussion questions
  • Material should be focussed on the Christ follower but open and understandable for the curious
  • Create a safe environment of respect that allows people of all stages of faith, an opportunity to connect and learn from each other
  • Share responsibilities to facilitate the discussion with the Lead Campus Intern
  • Organize rides to and from location (if required), ensuring people are aware of the weekly shuttle and that it is reliable and consistent 
  • Create awareness of the meetings on social media and other means of promotion

Monthly Social Events

  • Assist in planning monthly social events to help build stronger relationships and provide non-threatening connection points with curious
  • Promote each event with tools and opportunities available
  • Participate and co-lead events

Monthly Leadership Meetings

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating monthly leadership meetings with volunteer team
  • Meetings should include ministry-wide review, training & equipping, and planning for future events and eventual Brampton plant

Regular Meetings With The Lead Pastor & Lead Campus Intern

  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the lead pastor of the Sanctuary to provide ministry reports and progress, receive encouragement and training
  • Meet weekly with Lead Campus Intern to debrief and plan, maintaining strong communication

RedFrogs Canada - Sheridan Ministry

  • Collaborate with Lead Pastor, the SU, and Lead Campus Intern to equip volunteers, promote and organize RedFrog events
  • Assist in providing training sessions for new team members

Alpha Course

  • Help co-ordinate the National Alpha program, identifying and equipping leaders for the 12 sessions, setting up venue, promotion, organizing the meals and video
  • Assist lead pastor in organizing the Alpha weekend retreat
  • Assist Lead Campus Intern in organizing a new believers small group after the Alpha training
