DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRY PROFILE

Immanuel Church is a multi-generational church that has an exciting vision centred around caring for, equipping and multiplying passionate Jesus followers. As we continue to grow, particularly in the demographic of young families, our desire is to find a dynamic person to lead our Children’s Ministry.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

The Director of Children’s Ministry provides vision, leadership and theological oversight in order to create a thriving ministry to children and parents which will lead to the evangelism and discipleship of school aged families. The Director of Children’s Ministry will oversee all ministry to children from nursery to grade 5. This oversight includes: building and equipping teams of volunteers; equipping parents to be their children’s primary spiritual leader; and creating a safe and fun learning environment which becomes a catalyst in leading children to become passionate Jesus followers.

Project management experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop a strategy for evangelizing, discipling and mentoring kids from nursery to grade 5
Work with the Director of Student Ministries to transition kids from Immanuel Kids into Youth Ministry
Oversee and develop our Sunday experience so that each child doesn’t want to leave at the end, but is ready to follow Jesus and share Him with their friends and family
Oversee and find/develop curriculum for kids that reflects the teaching of Immanuel Church
Oversee, develop and implement policies for the Children’s Ministry and ensure their compliance
Develop and oversee training for all Children’s Ministry volunteers
Lead and build teams to execute all aspects of the Children’s Ministry
Identify and recruit leaders
Communicate regularly with parents, helping to equip them to lead thriving families
Oversee special family events such as Summer Camp, Fall Carnival and more
Pursue relationships with unchurched families
Track attendance and follow up with families
Bring a sense of creativity and fun into everything you do
Other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor

Children’s Ministry is being facilitated in a fun, safe, and engaging way so that kids are experiencing the love of Jesus
The Children’s Ministry is reflecting the mission, vision and values of Immanuel Church.

POSITION INFORMATION

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and includes health benefits and three weeks’ vacation. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The Director of Children’s Ministry is accountable to the Lead Pastor.
