Position Description

Fellowship CRC is “rooted in Biblical faith and shares the love of Jesus Christ; while reaching out to one another and to the communities which God has placed us.”

We are a church in transition - founded in 1953 and located in Etobicoke, ON Canada.  We have recently developed a working document to guide us into a new approach to our life as a congregation.  It includes five directions on which we hope to build our ministry.

Our church is currently seeking to hire a full-time MINISTRY DIRECTOR-(2 year renewable contract). The primary role(s) of this position is to support, empower and stretch Fellowship’s focus from inside the church to outside the church.  Engaging/developing new leaders (internal and external), and programs in concert with the established goals of our directional statement.

Core Competencies Required:

  • Five + years of relevant work experience.
  • Fellowship CRC is a member of the Christian Reformed Denomination.  The successful candidate is expected to agree with and uphold the traditions of the Reformed Faith.
  • Self-starter, who takes initiative, yet works well collaboratively.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, public speaking, and writing skills.
  • Professional, courteous and friendly personality.
  • Ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, creatively solve problems and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to network, develop and nurture relationships with all generations
  • Experienced with volunteer recruitment, training and management.
  • Experience with program or curriculum development, program management
  • Comfortable with their Christianity and speaking from a place of faith.
  • Ability to create positive working relationships with a diverse group of people and volunteers including gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, culture and skill level differences.
  • Able to work and travel evenings and weekends as required.

Reporting Position:                 To Church Council and/or assigned designate.

External Contacts:                  Ministry Partners in the community, Social Services, Local Government Agencies.

Education, Certifications and Licenses:

  • Degree in a related field e.g.  Education, Ministry, Social Services, Community Development; and/or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Networking.
