RELATIONSHIP COMPASS FACILITATOR

 

     The Relationship Compass Program is the education ministry of JFJ Hope Centre.  Our aim is to educate youth on issues pertaining to self-esteem, media influences and peer pressure as well as equip youths with tools to examine their values, evaluate relationships and make wise decisions for their futures.  We provide dynamic and interactive presentations for schools, youth groups and other youth serving agencies.

 

   Who we are looking for:

   We are recruiting young dynamic facilitators to speak in classrooms, youth groups and at youth retreats.

   Ideal candidates should have the following:

A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
Currently living out an exemplary life of sexual integrity (minimum 1 year commitment)
Passionate commitment and experience in working with youth
Desire to impart Biblical truths in a relevant way to un-churched youth
Comfortable with speaking in front of large groups and Power point presentations
Reliable and dependable team player
Flexible schedule and availability to travel within the GTA (based in Mississauga)

Responsibilities:

   Reporting to the Relationship Compass Program Coordinator, successful candidates will be responsible for:

Working with the facilitator team and Coordinator to present dynamic presentation and retreats for youth in schools and youth group settings
Presentations:

Facilitating a PowerPoint based presentation to groups of 15-40 students on the topics of self-esteem, peer pressure, media influences, healthy relationships, sexual decision making and teen pregnancy
Presenting sexual integrity truths in a dynamic and compelling way to youth
Engage youth in interactive games and discussions
Modelling sexual integrity in speech and conduct
Setting up and operating audio-visual equipment (laptop, projector, etc.)
Collecting teacher/leader and youth evaluations
Retreats:
Working in a team setting to facilitate retreats of approximately 5 hour to groups of 25-45 on the topics of self-esteem, peer pressure, media influences, healthy relationships, sexual decision making and teen pregnancy

Presenting sexual integrity truths in a dynamic and compelling way to youth

Engage youth in interactive games and discussions
Modelling sexual integrity in speech and conduct
Setting up and operating audio-visual equipment (laptop, projector, etc.)
Collecting teacher/leader and youth evaluations

Salary/Terms

This is a one year part time contract position.  The possibility of an extension of the contract is dependent on job performance and program funding.  Hours vary depending on scheduled presentations. Daytime availability and flexibility a must.

 

Compensation: Hourly rate, paid training and mileage allowance
