Position Description

Camp Widjiitiwin is seeking candidates for our summer leadership team

Join a fun and supportive community of leaders committed constructing experiences for campers and staff that edify and glorify God.

Positions include:

  • Program Director
  • Waterfront Director (NLS Required)
  • Guys/Girls Chief (Staff and Camper care)
  • Head Cook
  • Camp Medic (Standard First Aid or better)
  • SALT Director (LIT Adventure and Arts Course)

Responsibilities Include:

Program Director:

  • Reports to Director
  • Inventive programming
  • Oversee a team of program assistants in planning and constructing a weekly schedule and implementing themes and activities
  • Supporting activity areas
  • Leading evening and camp-wide games

Waterfront Director

  • Reports to Director
  • Ensure Safe operation of all Waterfront activities
  • Instruction for LITs (SALT) Bronze Med/Cross (Examiner provided separately)
  • Supervision of Lifeguards and scheduling
  • Training and oversight of emergency procedures at waterfront

Ministry Director

  • Reports to Director
  • To lead and mentor Chief Cabin Leaders
  • To assist with cabin situations, by giving support and advice
  • Care for the emotional, spiritual, mental, social and physical well-being of camp staff

Guys/Girls Chiefs

  • Reports to Ministry Director
  • Supervise Cabin Leaders
  • Implement guys/girls events for staff
  • Camper Discipline
  • Other duties as required to support Ministry Director

Head Cook

  • Reports to Director
  • Preparation of Meals and special food
  • Oversee team of kitchen staff and assistant cooks
  • Order to a menu and communicate with suppliers (with support)

Camp Medic

  • Reports to Director
  • Collection and Distribution staff and camper medications
  • Respond to medical emergencies
  • Organization and access to camper and staff medical information

SALT Director

  • Reports to Director
  • Oversee implementation and improvement of SALT adventure and Arts program (Skills And Leadership Training)
  • Oversee team of SALT Leaders
  • Develop and implement discipleship training, cooperating with supporting instructors and teachers
  • Plan and lead out-trips and offsite trips with support where needed
