Position Description

St. Paul’s Bloor Street is a vibrant Anglican church located in the heart of downtown Toronto. We are looking for a professional, outgoing, dependable and enthusiastic individual with a passion for people and a strong desire to serve, learn and grow. As a member of our administrative team, the Administrative Assistant will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for providing administrative support to our various ministries.

Key Functions

  • Creation of Materials
    • Coordinate and prepare seasonal publications
    • Design and print sermon series graphics, special bulletin covers,  and other documents as required
  • Event Services
    • Support the Events Manager by assisting clients and event staff with any inquiries or needs
    • Interact with clients and provide excellent customer service throughout the duration of the rental
    • Friendly and outgoing team member with a "we'll make it happen" attitude
  • Ministry Support
    • Provide administrative support to ministries
    • Coordinate special services, such as weddings and funerals, with appropriate staff
    • Type correspondence, rosters, reports, welcome letters and other documents
    • Act as registrar for courses or events run by the church
    • Photocopy materials, prepare name tags, registration lists, notebooks, packages, etc.
  • Office Administration
    • Maintain and manage office equipment and supplies, including coordinating repairs as required
    • Provide backup support to front desk
  • And other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and networking skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures with proven ability to pay attention to details
  • Proactive, energetic team player that’s able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proven ability to solve problems and provide an innovative approach to projects
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset
  • Proven ability to learn and use other software applications
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to facilitate and resolve conflict
  • Fluency with the English language – ability to speak, read and comprehend
  • Willing to submit to a Police background check and comply with the policies of St. Paul’s
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of St. Paul’s

Availability

  • This is a full-time position with an immediate start
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5pm, with occasional overtime
  • Salary range: $38,000 - $42,000, plus benefits
