Position Description

Inner Hope Youth Ministries is a Christian nonprofit which exists to walk alongside youth and families in East Vancouver; building long term relationships and providing services that offer hope, belonging and transformation. We are seeking a Communications and Human Resources Coordinator to support the Executive Director in communications, promotional materials, organizational support (fundraising, events & record keeping) and human resource administration. The successful applicant must be highly organized, able to accommodate shifting priorities, have experience with design and communicate from a foundation of faith.

Hours: 20 hours per week over 3 or 4 days (a minimum of 2 days on site)

Pay: $19.50 / hour

Immediate Supervisor: Executive Director

Position Requirements:

  • Supportive of Inner Hope Youth Ministry’s (IHYM) Statement of Faith
  • Adherence to IHYM’s Vision, Mission and Values, Code of Ethics and Policies
  • Combination of five years of post-secondary education / workforce experience
  • Minimum two years’ training and/or experience working in layout and web design
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to write at a professional level
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with a donor database and mass e-mail platform (MailChimp) preferred
  • Works well collaboratively and is a team player
  • Competent at time management and administration, with the ability to be flexible
  • Acceptable current criminal record check
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal community an asset

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Communications

  • Develop Inner Hope promotional materials (brochures, business cards, posters)
  • Develop and maintain the Inner Hope website
  • Oversee online presence including Facebook
  • Produce and distribute quarterly newsletters for all Inner Hope supporters
  • Design annual report for board and other key stakeholders
  • Oversee donor thank-you cards and gifts
  • Assist with fundraising (promotional events and materials)
  • Assist with record keeping (donor database)

2. Human Resources

  • Maintain and upkeep Human Resources filing records (hiring, screening & training records)
  • Manage administrative duties including job postings

3. All other duties as assigned by supervisor
