Position Description

Youth and Young Adults Pastor

Richmond Hill Pentecostal Church is a vibrant and growing metropolitan, multicultural, and multigenerational Pentecostal church in the heart of north Toronto with the mission of exalting Jesus, empowering people, and evangelizing nations.

Mission: Youth and Young Adults Pastor is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for all programs, activities and educational aspects related to Youth and Young Adults at Richmond Hill Pentecostal Church.

Remuneration:             $45,000-$55,000 per year

Benefits:                       Eligible following six-month probation

Salary Reviews:            Annually

Proposed Start:            Spring 2018



a)     Minimum College or University degree related to ministry position

b)    Ministry Credentials with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada or similar Pentecostal denomination

c)     Minimum 3 years pastoral experience with a proven track record leading youth and young adult ministries in an urban context

d)    Current Criminal Records Check available upon request

e)     Minimum Class G driver’s license and ownership of reliable vehicle for ministry-related travel/errands

b)    Thrives in a multi-cultural multi-staff Pentecostal ministry context

c)     Reflects identity, mission, and vision of the church

d)    Excellent interpersonal skills, team-oriented, relational, client focused; strong active listening skills

e)     Self-motivating, positive attitude, reliable, and enthusiastic

f)     Strong organizational and administrative skills; resourceful

g)    Proficiency in written, verbal, and electronic communications

h)     Proficiency in computer skills; familiar with relevant software and social media

i)      Embraces creative and innovative teaching and communication technologies

j)      Strong ability to recruit, train, lead, and motivate volunteer ministry teams

k)     Possesses the ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality

l)      Skilled in public speaking to small and large groups with relevancy and cultural sensitivity

m)   Familiar with Plan to Protect® abuse prevention and protection



a)     Provides strategic leadership in conjunction with Lead Pastor to coordinate ministries

b)    Oversees all programming and ministry for youth and young adults including all retreats, conferences, outreaches, leadership development, discipleship, and all other related special events and programs

c)     Recruits, trains, builds and leads volunteer teams to minister effectively to youth and young adults

d)    Implements appropriate, relevant, and exciting programming and community outreach

e)     Creates environments, activities, and programming for each age group that facilitates healthy growth

f)     Maintains ministry database with current, accurate, and accessible information

g)    Provides pastoral care and prayer support for youth and young adults in need

h)     Creates and implements strategies for outreach and evangelism through innovative initiatives

i)      Oversees ministry expenditures with fiscally responsible management of ministry budget

j)      Serves on Pastoral Team to provide other ministries to the broader church congregation

k)     Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Lead Pastor and Board
