Muskoka Woods is a Christian youth development organization that welcomes everyone to an experience for a lifetime. We are located on the shores of beautiful Lake Rosseau and across Ontario through our CITYCAMP program. We specialize in summer camp, day camp, school trips, group retreats and leadership development for all ages. We exist to inspire youth to shape their world.

Job Title:                    Content Manager

Reports to:                 Marketing & Sales Director

Job Purpose:

The Content Manager is responsible for creating and executing the company’s content marketing strategy, primarily through building and maintaining: the website, PDF’s, podcasts, eblasts, books and other materials that drive the awareness of Muskoka Woods as a youth development organization to its expanding customer base.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with M&S Director, CEO & COO to create and build a content marketing plan tied to measurable outcomes that include but are not limited to lead generation, bookings and registrations for Summer Camp, CITYCAMP, Schools & Groups and the Leadership Studio. Content to include items such as podcasts, PDF’s, books, eblasts, videos and landing pages.
  • Build and manage Muskoka Woods website(s) including managing the website scorecard and achieving weekly targets, continually striving to exceed previous targets
  • Development and maintenance of a content voice that is consistent with the MW brand
  • Create and execute workflow of a content calendar that, when appropriate, maximizes content releases that coincide with national/global public events (e.g. Bell Let’s Talk day, Mother’s Day, crisis related to our subject matter)
  • Create and manage benchmarking and scorecard measurement tools to continually improve content reach. Examples of targets include: podcast downloads, click through rates, email sign ups, etc.
  • Build and manage Content Marketing budget
  • Manage podcast production including but not limited to: working with the host(s) to vision content and interviewees, creating a content calendar, managing production (e.g. editing) of podcasts, script writing
  • Ghostwrite and edit all content
  • Work with Product Marketing Manager to create a plan to advertise content and ensure content is meeting viewing and lead generation targets
  • Work collaboratively with Product Marketing Manager to ensure product and content marketing compliment each other to achieve best outcomes for overall business, and provide content marketing services to Marketing Manager when required (e.g. share writing skills for eblasts, assistance in writing captions for social, video ideation for specific product promotion, etc.)
  • Work proactively with Product Marketing Manager in scheduling creative services with the goal of using internal creative services team for graphic design of materials, and manage outsourced graphic designers directly when needed and within budget
  • Stay abreast of content trends and cultural shifts in regards to child & youth development, mental health, leadership, resilience, parenting and other related fields of information
  • Continually research and stay abreast of what content competitors are producing and of content marketing trends
  • Work on special projects and contribute ideas to the growth of the department
  • Participate in meetings and corporate events as required


  • Related university degree
  • Min. 2 years content marketing and website management experience
  • Experience working with external vendors and internal cross-departments with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Intermediate understanding of SEO, digital advertising, email marketing, Google Analytics, and social media
  • Proficient in storytelling, writing digital content and how to promote such content to gain followers/viewers/subscribers

Skills & Abilities:

  • Highly motivated, goal-driven, self–starter with capability of managing projects through completion with minimum supervision, comfortable working with and challenging strong leadership personalities
  • Detail oriented and organized with excellent writing and editing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel to the resort a min. of 10% of the time from Sept-June and up to 30% June-August (mileage, room & board provided)
