Richmond Presbyterian Church seeks a Contemporary Worship Leader (Permanent Part Time Position)
Application Closing Date – April 30, 2018
Richmond Presbyterian Church is a vital, growing, multicultural community of God’s people located in a busy, vibrant city. Our worship brings the many diverse, eclectic parts of our community together, united in praise of our God. Currently, our worship service is a balanced blend of both contemporary and traditional music, drawing from the classic hymns of faith as well as the most modern expressions of praise. Our congregation is intergenerational, ranging from the very young to the very experienced and includes those who are new to faith as well as those who have a life-long history within the church. Over the past decade we were blessed with the gifts of a talented and committed Contemporary Worship Leader, who led our singing and was also our primary guitarist.
For Sunday mornings, the Contemporary Worship Leader would work collaboratively under the supervision of the Music Director (who is also our Choir Director and Organist) and the Minister and could also assume duties as the Assistant Music Director, filling in for the Music Director as required in his absence. Some working knowledge of traditional worship would be desirable.
Currently there are a number of volunteer musicians who help at most Sunday morning worship services, including a drummer and a bassist. The Music Director also plays keyboard or piano as part of the Contemporary Worship Team.
There is the possibility of an additional weekday evening worship service developing later in 2018. The Contemporary Worship Leader would be seen as a central resource for this service on a regular basis.
