REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide counselling and support services to residents of Evangeline Residence using an holistic approach focusing on housing attainment
  • Provide needs assessments and follow-up
  • Provide advocacy and crisis intervention
  • Make referrals to appropriate programs/agencies to address basic housing needs
  • Liaise with professionals in the community and residential workers
  • Discharge planning
  • Assist residents’ integration into community housing
  • Maintain accurate detailed documentation/case notes related to specific case load
  • Facilitate housing focused assessment and case planning utilizing agency sanctioned tools
  • Assist clients in housing preparation

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or equivalency or Counselling Diploma plus 2 year experience
  • Ability to work with woman in crisis
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training as asset
  • Knowledge of Immigration procedures an asset
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Class “G” driver’s license an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

HOURS: 40 hours per week
