Medical Volunteer Engagement Officer (MVEO)
Global Outreach Mission, Inc. is an interdenominational evangelical mission organization committed to the expression of Jesus’ teachings through medical services, education, communitydevelopment, and spiritual discipleship. We exist to see the gospel of Jesus Christ shared throughout the whole world. We are a missionary sending agency whose purpose it is to facilitate the local North American church in sending those who are “called” to overseas missionary service. Our vision is to facilitate the vision of our missionaries.

The successful candidate will exhibit Christ-like character, be a team player and reflects the love of Christ in the fulfilment of our mission in “leading people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and following him passionately.”

This is a volunteer position.
This position is based on either a part-time or full-time basis.
This position can be done from our St. Catharines office, your home office, or a combination of the aforesaid.
The successful candidate would have opportunity to raise own support.

Job Description
Reporting to the VP Personnel, the incumbent will be responsible to proactively source and recruit medical volunteers for overseas medical opportunities with the mission.
The MVEO will research and develop sources of new medical volunteers, including but not limited to associations, referrals, networks and social media. Will be responsible for creating a strong pipeline of contacts and develop partnerships that will support strategic recruitment.
Key Job Functions
 Sources and recruits suitable medical volunteers to ensure all assignments are filled with the most suitable volunteers within the targeted time
 Develops a pool of qualified medical volunteers in advance of need
 Builds a network to find pre-qualified candidates
 Recommends new sources for active and passive volunteer recruitment (i.e. social media and other channels, engagement strategies, marketing tactics, etc.)
 Takes initiative in creating engagement strategies to bring on new volunteers
 Researches industry associations and schools. Creates a strong pipeline of contacts and develops partnerships that will support strategic recruitment.
 Provides excellent customer service to medical volunteers during the onboarding, recruitment and selection process
 Continually acts as an ambassador of GOM, promoting it as “best place to volunteer”
 Provide a high level of customer service by phone, email, and in person.
 Manage recruitment inquiries received
 Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Proven ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively
 Strong computer skills, proficiency in MS Office and able to learn other software
 Excellent listening skills and customer service skills
 Resourceful and able to proactively anticipate needs and provide solutions

Job Requirements
 University Degree or College Diploma. Medical background an asset, but not required.
 Demonstrated experience in customer service-oriented field
 Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs/applications
 Christian Faith: Have a solid and vibrant Christian faith
 Church Involvement: A positive relationship with a recognized church and regular attendance
 Ministry Experience: Have a solid background and understanding of Christian ministry (2-3 years)
 Is flexible in a team environment and is a team player
 Able to work independently and strongly self-motivated
 Strong research skills and ability to produce reports and summary of findings
 Strong command of the English language (both written and oral)
 Affinity for working with a small-sized non-profit, charitable environment
 Overseas work/ministry experience an asset, but not required.
