RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Assists with operation of day camp program for children by leading and assisting in various activities including arts & crafts, music, sports and swimming
  • Monitor children during their activities to ensure their safety
  • Accompany children on field trips
  • Set up before and clean up after activities as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • The applicant must meet the eligibility requirements for hiring under the Canada Summer Jobs program
  • Must have been a full-time student in 2017-18 academic year and be returning to full-time enrollment in 2018-19
  • Successful completion of grade 12 (enrollment in a post-secondary education program preferred)
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to work patiently with people (including children) from difficult backgrounds
  • Ability to protect confidentiality
  • Ability to assist in children’s programs in the areas of arts & crafts, music, and/or sports
  • Ability to understand and follow direction
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Must be comfortable working within a Christian church environment

HOURS: 32 hours per week

SALARY: $14.00 - $14.18 per hour
