Position Purpose summary:

Assist The Salvation Army’s Ottawa Public Relations and Development Department with their day-to-day work in relation to social media and marketing. This individual will work directly with the Public Relations team as well as the Divisional Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Curate content, monitor and maintain social media presence for The Salvation Army in Ottawa (Facebook and Twitter)
  • Provide on-site live social media support during events (may include weekends and evenings)
  • Assist with the day to day management of social media platforms via Hootsuite
  • Support the Marketing and Communications team in creating a 12-month content calendar and identify key marketing dates for social media campaigns

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must meet the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a faced paced office/community setting
  • Understanding and support of the Mission of The Salvation Army
  • Valid Criminal Reference Check

HOURS: 30 hours per week , Monday – Friday

SALARY: $14.00 per hour
