Position Description

Director of Child & Youth Ministry

1) Position
First Baptist Church Tillsonburg is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours per week) Director of Child & Youth Ministry.

2) Description of our Church
First Baptist Church Tillsonburg was founded in 1853 and has built a strong reputation in our community as a welcoming and inviting church. Our Sunday morning attendance is around 150 people with a total of 270 regular attenders. Our congregation is made up of a good range of ages from, youth to young families to seniors, who are all eager to serve God together. Our church leadership is made up of our Lead Pastor, Rev. Steve Amorin who has served FBC for the past 11 years, a Board of Deacons who oversee our various ministry teams as well as a Board of Directors that oversee our finances, policies, facilities and staffing.

Among the many ministry programs we offer for all ages, we have the KidsROCK Wednesday night program at a local school gym with a regular attendance of 15-20 students in grades 3-6. We also hold a Sr. Youth program on Monday nights at the local YFC youth centre for youth in grades 7-12 with a regular attendance of 15-20 students. Kids and youth in both of these groups are an even mixture of church and community youth. Our Sunday School has an average attendance of 20 students from nursery to high school.

Over the past 10 years we have been working towards building a brand new church facility that will enhance our ministry and help us to carry forward our mission in the community. With this project we have recently sold our existing building and now meet each Sunday morning in the Tillsonburg Community Centre auditorium for worship. We use several of the rental rooms for our Sunday School program. We have a storefront “FBC Ministry Centre” that houses our offices, meeting space and church library throughout the week; all in the heart of downtown Tillsonburg. We currently own 5.3 acres at the South end of town and plan to begin building our new facility on this site in 2019.
