Position Description

Logos Baptist Church (Mississauga) is a dynamic tri-congregational (Cantonese, English, and Mandarin) church with a 29-year history and a combined attendance of 350+. We are looking for a pastor to lead the Children’s Ministry within predominantly 1st-2nd generation Canadian-Asian congregations.

Expectations:

The Children’s Pastor is expected to be a servant leader who is expected to live an exemplary life modeling the call and character of a minister of Jesus Christ.

Reporting to and serving under supervision of the senior pastor, the Children’s pastor will be to:

  • Create dynamic environments for spiritual growth and learning for children from Gr.1 to 7 during Sunday services and in special church events.
  • Recruit, train and develop youth and adult leaders who demonstrate the potential for leadership and have a passion for working with children.
  • Select, execute, monitor and evaluate the overall age-appropriate Sunday School curriculums.
  • Equip and provide support to parents to expand their spiritual influence with their children.
  • Oversee the development of Children’s Ministry in the tri-congregational environment.

Qualifications:

  • Godly passion, love, and care for children.
  • Maturity, discipline, character, and integrity.
  • Communicator of God's truths in an age-appropriate manner to the children and willing to serve in a tri-cultural environment.
  • Strong strategic Planning to maintain and develop the Children’s Ministry.
  • Ability to function as a family and parenting resource to provide support and guidance to parents/guardians on relevant issues.
  • Academic qualification of M. Div. in Children Education or related programs would be an asset.
