Position Description

Must coordinate, organize and execute:

  • Exceptional knowledge of High Definition broadcast cameras and their digital set-up.  This includes frame rates, codecs, and formatting.  For external filming, must understand and know how to export video captured on camera external recording devices (includes but not limited to memory cards or hard drives).
  • Prepares, aligns, set-up and operates a portable electronic camera, transmission and lighting equipment for both pre-recorded and live to air field broadcast.
  • Ensures proper care in the set-up, operation and storage of any Gospel TV equipment
  • Consults with Editor, Producers/Directors, Reporters, Assignment Editors, and other production staff to provide creative input to the production and ensure standards of filming are met.
  • Works quickly, especially as timing is such an important factor in news coverage
  • Works in conjunction with any external mobile editing or broadcast vehicles or systems to ensure proper camera set-up and relays of video captured
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle to and from assignments
  • Finds solutions to technical or other practical problems for the filming of the required video
  • Maintains station†equipment and keeping log of updates, repairs
  • Demonstrates awareness safety issues†
  • Good knowledge of current switchers used at Gospel TV (Tricaster)
  • Exceptional knowledge of production lighting
  • May direct programs in the absence of a Producer/Director
  • Make suggestions to enhance programs


  • Provide assistance to production team during studio and remote taping.
  • Perform on-air switching for live events and recording
  • Operate recording hardware, satellite receivers, and computer based systems.
  • Prepare and check material for on-air playback via automation systems.
  • Communications background preferred/production experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and possess excellent follow up skills.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends

Maintain studio environment to ensure the cables, wires and items are clearly out of steps, properly arranged and the environment is in a sanitary condition. Work with Janitorial staffs and property management to ensure studio is safe, clean and ready.
