Position Description

Richmond Hill Christian Community Church 9670 Bayview Avenue Richmond Hill, Ontario L4C 9X9 Canada Job title : Pastor for Caring Ministry Reports to : Pastor in Charge of English Congregation Job purpose • To provide the Care Connection, Shepherding and Counseling leadership in the English Caring Ministry. • To support people through showing Christ’s love and providing a caring community within and outside the church. Duties and responsibilities The primary duties and responsibilities include: 1. Oversee the Care Connection Ministry • Oversee the Welcome & Hospitality ministry. • Connect Newcomers into the church family. • Connect members to be engaged in church activities and contribute to the ministries. 2. Coordinate the Prayer and Shepherding Ministry • Promote a prayer culture and organize prayer gatherings. • Shepherd men/women at different life stages and provide pastoral support. • Provide coaching and training for lay shepherds. 3. Coordinate the Counseling Ministry • Equip potential lay counselors through hands-on trainings and coaching. • Design and launch programs for support groups: Cancer Support, Mental health etc. 4. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications include: • Proficiency in English (helpful knowing Cantonese and/or Mandarin) • M. Div. or equivalent • Ability to lead, organize and work with a team of volunteers and deacons • Heart for people and their needs • Gifts in shepherding, caring, mercy ministries, and prayer • Equipped to do counseling and to train others in counseling • Willing to be fully part of RHCCC 3M team and family, including being a full participant and member of a small group • 5 years of ministry experience (pastoral/shepherding/counseling) preferred Working conditions - Generally works 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and be flexible for evening meetings.
