Position Description

The Campus Church - North Site, is a fast growing and fun community of Christ followers in the Holland Landing/Bradford area. We launched just over a year and a half ago as a new site of The Campus Church and have a vibrant children's program that we value highly and has been a big part of our growth. We are looking for someone to join our team as we look to share the love and grace of Jesus with our community. The Campus Church is a community of Christ followers that matures and multiplies its influence through developing, resourcing and launching interdependent communities to reach the York-Simcoe region with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Job Description:

Position Title: Director of Campus|Kids – North Site, 10 hours per week.

Reporting to: Campus Pastor and Elder’s Board

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and provide year-round oversight and leadership to the Campus|Kids ministry at our North Site.
  • Reinforce the vision of the church ensuring that the Campus|Kids ministry is in accord and harmony with that vision and complements the vision.
  • Maintain awareness of Campus|Kids budget is to ensure expenses are kept within budget boundaries.
  • Develop, train, equip and mentor key leaders in Campus|Kids.
  • Coordinate and provide leadership in the following areas:
    • Campus|Kids Sunday Morning Program
      • Volunteer management-
        • Recruitment
        • Training
        • Screening (Protection Policy Protocols, interviews, reference checks)
        • Encouragement
        • Communication (phone calls, email, newsletter)
        • Scheduling
        • Counselling and prayer when needed.
      • Plan and help execute special events.
      • Manage and implement the curriculum.
        • Photocopy and distribute
        • Train new volunteers on how to use it.
      • Maintain Campus|Kids areas and equipment
        • Oversee updating decor and equipment when needed
        • Make sure craft and classroom supplies are adequate.
        • Purchase and maintain snack and nursery supplies.
      • Connect with and welcome new families.
        • Build a caring relationship with the children.
        • Deal with disciplinary issues during the program.
        • Pray for them.
      • Connecting with the parents.
        • Communication (via email, phone and newsletter)
        • Encourage and counsel when needed.
        • Obtain input regarding the program as needed.
        • Ensure proper documentation is taking place (family registration, attendance, incident reports etc.)
      • Ensure all Protection Policies are adhered to.

As appropriate and able, be a visible, supportive, participating presence in all major church functions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Give evidence of a maturing Christian life, including the manifestation of Christ-like character, a servant heart, a shepherd’s heart, the exercise of personal spiritual disciplines, and a commitment to serving Christ in His Kingdom.
  • Possess a passionate heart for Christ and pastoral and family ministry.
  • Proven experience in the area of Children’s Ministry
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work with adults and youth in the area of team building.
  • A team player, respecting and supporting fellow staff/colleagues, the leadership of the church, volunteers and the Board of Elders.
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrate innovative leadership
  • Maintain a healthy personal, marital (if married), family and social life
  • Strong communication, coaching and organization skills.
  • Support the Constitution and Statement of Faith of The Campus Church.
  • Be or become a member of The Campus Church
  • A university degree or equivalent training or experience within the context of Children’s ministry would be an asset.
