Position Description

Department: Events & Guest Services
Reports to: Full-Time Welcome Desk Administrator
Status: Part-time (3 days a week, 4-8pm)

 

Position Overview:

The Part-Time Welcome Desk Administrator acts as a host to the visitors of The Peoples Church during operating hours.

He/she will be responsible for graciously welcoming visitors, answering and referring inbound telephone calls, filtering online inquiries, directing visitors to program locations within the building, answering general questions, assisting with maintaining the Prayer list for The Peoples Church, and other tasks using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.  As this position will work as part of a team, the incumbent must display team building and strong interpersonal skills. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

• Courteously receive and screen all inbound telephone calls, e-mails, and visitors to The Peoples Church; refer and/or redirect calls, e-mails, or visitors as applicable
• Present a positive and professional image of The Peoples Church to all visitors, vendors, inquiries, and other interactions
• Acknowledge all inquiries received through Connection Cards, Visitor Centre forms, messages received by fax and email messages and redirect them to the appropriate staff member for a formal response
• Maintain coffee / tea service in the café
• Maintain “kid-zone” in the café
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Understand and support the mission, vision, values and  the Statement of Faith of The Peoples Church
• At least 6 months experience in an administrative function
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
• Can work independently as well as part of a team
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize well

Working Conditions:

• Vulnerability Sector Screening must be completed
• Evenings and weekends are required
• Occasional weekend shift may  be required
