Renascence Homes is looking for a youth worker for a group home just north of Edmonton. The Youth Worker will be part of a treatment team in a group home for boys ages 8-16. Responsibilities include assisting the youth in their daily routines, planning and participating in recreational activities, and building relationships with the youth. We believe that we can help to positively influence lives of youth who have experienced significant trauma and loss. We are a faith-based organization who have been successfully working with Alberta Childrens Services for over 30 years, and bring several distinctive features to this challenging field: parented group care; rural setting; structured living; activity focused; work experience and educational emphasis; and, numerous outdoor pursuits.
The Youth Worker is part of the team that consists of Supervisors, Child Care Workers, House Parents, and other supports.
The Youth Worker will have evening and weekend shifts that will total approximately 160 hours per month. The wages begin at about $20 per hour, depending on experience and education. Minimally, the successful applicant will have a related degree or diploma and/or a combination of education and experience.
Indigenous applicants are encouraged, as many of the youth we serve are from the indigenous population.
Other requirements include recent Intervention Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Police Check, as well as First Aid, Food Safe Handling, Indigenous Awareness, and other training that will be arranged after employment begins.
