Position Description

Markham Peoples Community Church (MPCC) is a non-denominational church. The mission and vision of the church revolves around the Great Commission and God’s greatest commandments. The church is called to be a multi-cultural church and reach people of all walks of life. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) that would mostly be focused on reaching youth and young adults. This position starts immediately.

• Formal post-secondary Christian education from an accredited seminary/college (graduated or current student)
• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ rooted in Scripture, worship, prayer, discipleship and commitment
• Agreement with MPCC’s statement of faith, vision and mission
• Called by God to the ministry and a strong passion to serve in the body of Christ
• Must be zealous to work with youth and young adults
• Self-starter and able to work without direct supervision
• Relational style of leadership, outreach and ministry
• Ability to motivate people for ministry
• Genuine love for people and the church
• Strong interpersonal skills, especially with youth and young adults
• Strong administrative, communication and leadership skills
• Able to work effectively both in team situations and independently
• A clear police criminal record check (current or willing to obtain one)
• Fervent for friendship evangelism
• Bonus: Alternate gifting in music, playing instruments, playing sports, small group
ministry or preaching

• Participate in the church life of MPCC and its Sunday worship services
• Develop overall strategies for outreach and discipleship of youth and young adults
• Disciple people intentionally, individually and in group setting
• Plan and lead youth and young adults fellowship events
• Coordinate events for the community and families
• Report and work under guidance of the English Pastor
• Perform other duties as assigned by the English Pastor
