We are seeking God’s chosen man to serve as our Senior Pastor following the retirement of our previous pastor of 19 years.
Our identity is expressed in our Mission Statement: “We are a Community of Grace, rooted together in the Gospel, that exists to glorify God by making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ who are committed to the celebration of God, the cultivation of deeper faith, and the restoration of our community, the city, and the nations.”
About Philpott Memorial Church:
The church was founded in 1892 through the ministry of Peter Philpott in Hamilton, a major city in Southern Ontario. It became part of a multi-church community, the Associated Gospel Churches (AGC).
Our congregation is diverse ethnically, socio-economically, and generationally, and is gifted with a wide range of ministry abilities.
We have strong collective worship through music and study of the Word, vibrant children’s, youth and family ministries, many home groups, and are committed to local and global missions, including outreach to new Canadians. We currently support 15 missionary families in our city and around the world.
Full-time staff includes our Senior Pastor, Worship Arts Pastor, Family Life Pastor, Church Administrator and Office Administrator. Part-time staff includes our Youth Pastor, Visitation Pastor, Urban Ministries director, and volunteer staff.
Our current membership is 197, and Sunday morning attendance averages 225 adults and 65 children (nursery to grade 6). The church is centrally located in Hamilton, a city undergoing substantial growth and downtown renewal. Many commute from across the city and beyond to participate in our services and events. We are currently engaged in planning a major rebuild of our church facilities.
We are linked with other churches in Hamilton in an interdenominational movement called “TrueCity: Churches together for the good of the city.”
