Position Description

Job Description:

  1. Major mandate is to assist the Senior Pastor to develop, facilitate and coordinate ministries that are related to the three congregations in their respective development;
  2. As a member of the TCCC staff, provide dedicated support to the Senior Pastor in decision-making processes and ministry planning & implementation.  Also to work independently with the pastoral and administrative teams to ensure the strategic plans are executed effectively meeting the established objectives and plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the Senior Pastor and pastoral team to establish rolling 3 – 5 years objective plan, from which to establish TCCC’s annual goals, strategies and tactics;
  2. Assist in research and advise the Senior Pastor in the implementation and execution of ministry initiatives and plans;
  3. Assist the Senior Pastor to coordinate and execute plans related to staff hiring, development, including staff positioning and succession planning;
  4. Work with pastoral team and different functions to establish strategic annual church calendars;
  5. Liaise with pastoral staff concerning ministry development, consolidation and execution of ministry plans, evaluation and resourcing;
  6. Assist the Senior Pastor to liaise with external parties regarding ministry opportunities and strategies;
  7. Attend pastoral and leadership meetings as necessary and upon the Senior Pastor’s invitation and designation;
  8. Assist the Senior Pastor to liaise with ECB. Involved in the annual budget along with the Finance ministry to ensure resource allocation is aligned with the church’s annual goals.


  1. A nine-month renewable contract (vacation outside nine work months);
  2. Standard staff benefits in line with our church policy will be provided.


  1. Theological training with an accredited theological seminary, preferably with a minimum of an MTS degree in North America;
  2. Minimum eight years of leadership experience in a North American church consisting of Cantonese, Mandarin and English congregations, with a total average attendance of 600 people in all worship services on each Sunday;
  3. Proficient in Cantonese, Mandarin and English;
  4. Management experience considered an asset;
  5. The successful candidate shall become one of our church members and be prepared to attend and/or work in church services, meetings, programs and activities etc. as required or assigned by the Senior Pastor, including outside normal work hours as well as on Saturdays and Sundays.
