Position Description
Stepping Stones at MBC
Stepping Stones is a 2-4 month intentional discipleship experience, which aims to bring youth towards maturity in Christ by Renewing their relationship with God, Connecting them to a healthy community, and Equipping them to do God's work. In order to accomplish this, Stepping Stones develops youth in three areas: Spiritual Formation (Bible studies, teaching sessions, spiritual disciplines, etc.), Community Life (fellowship with a healthy community of believers) and Work Excellence (summer positions with Muskoka Bible Centre). Through Stepping Stones, MBC recruits and enrolls over 100 youth (15-25 yrs. old) for our spring/summer program.
Rec Team Leader & Skills Leader
The Rec Team Leader/Skills Leader splits their time between being a Skills Leader in the morning and leading/running guest activities in the afternoon or evening. Each summer MBC offers a wide variety of programmed guest experiences that help families connect with one another and enriches their lives through activities they have never tried before.
Rec responsibilities:
- provide program oversight and run pre-planned summer recreation activities which may include:
- competitions,
- Escape Room,
- Drive-In Movie nights,
- family oriented events,
- shooting gallery, and more.
They are responsible for leading and working alongside the Rec Assistant to ensure excellent program delivery to guests.
Skills responsibilities:
- working alongside of, training, and leading their Frontline helper;
- preparing and leading engaging skills content; and
- maintaining their skills zones.
A demonstrated spiritual maturity is absolutely needed. There are two skills periods every weekday morning. Core will teach the same skill for both periods. Skills offered this year are: Riflery, Rocketry, Baking and Music.
Requirements:
- High energy and ability to work with guests of ALL ages
- Enjoy teaching and facilitating fun learning experiences for others
- Detail-oriented and self-directed
- Comfortable following operating procedures and lesson plans
- Disciplined - Can organize their time and tasks really well
- Comfortable coordinating activities of other students/teams who volunteer to support rec events.
- Age 18+
Rec Assistant/Skills Assistant
The Rec Assistant/Skills Assistant splits their time between being a Skills Leader in the morning and leading/running guest activities in the afternoon or evening.

The Rec Assistant supports the Rec Team Leader in running pre-planned, pre-existing summer recreation activities for families at MBC. These activities include:
- competitions,

- engaging with youth in a positive way, and
