Position Description

To pastor our emerging and vibrant English-speaking congregation, we are looking for a full-time Assistant Pastor in Youth Ministry


The primary responsibility of the Assistant  Pastor in Youth Ministry is to collaborate with the Youth Ministry staff and leaders to develop the KEC Youth Ministry. Tasks will include:

  • Develop and support
    • Youth Fellowship (G.6-10)
    • College Fellowship (G.11 and college)
  • Preach at the Youth Sunday Service
    • Preach occasionally at the English Service
  • Plan and prepare teaching resources for the Youth Sunday Service
    • Help the Message Team to use the resources
  • Plan and coordinate fellowship programs and events
    • Meet regularly with the staff team and lay leaders
    • Provide briefing, debriefing, and follow up on action items related to fellowship programs
    • Collaborate with other ministry teams
    • Assist with administrative tasks
  • Develop and execute Youth Ministry system and policies
    • Servant management including: recruitment, scheduling, training, evaluation, and culture setting
    • Equipment and supplies procurement and maintenance
    • Annual budget and expense management

Work Relationship

  • Report to the Associate Pastor in Youth & Children Ministry
  • Collaborate with the Youth Ministry lay leaders
  • Work with other ministry teams to coordinate ministry logistics


  • With a Master Degree in Christian Studies, or equivalent
  • Experienced in the development of college and youth ministries in a Canadian or American context. Have a passion for guiding youths to become disciples of Jesus Christ.
  • Possess spiritual and emotional maturity; believe in sound doctrines; demonstrate character of Christ-likeness; desire continuous spiritual growth
  • Self-motivated, good time management and strong administrative abilities
  • A good communicator, a strong team worker with good people skills and competent conflict resolution experience
  • Willing to submit and follow the ministry philosophy of the Lead Pastoral Team
  • A lifetime learner in leadership, ministry, and discipleship
  • Required to work on Sunday (and weekday evening as needed)
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office software, Google applications, cloud services required
  • Criminal record check required
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Current First Aid certification preferred, but not required
