June-August 2019. Start and end dates are flexible.

Time Commitment

Interns work 30 hours/week on average. May be higher during key programs and peak periods.

Job Description

The Media and Communications Intern will be working in collaboration with the Program Coordinator to record and photograph all summer programs and events as well as promote and publish on social media. This unpaid position is located in Grimsby, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Photography/videography of EICC events
  • Publishing on social media
  • Creating photo albums before/during/after each program
  • Creating videos before/during/after each program
  • Raising awareness of the EICC
  • Provide general support to the EICC staff
  • Drafting blog posts or media updates

Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program. Recent graduates are eligible if they graduated the semester immediately prior.
    • Specifically in media and communications program or similar is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude, resourceful, and flexibility to handle change
  • Experience with social media required—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience in public relations, marketing, graphic design, and/or media arts
