Position Description
Markham Peoples Community Church (MPCC) is a non-denominational church that is based on the Bible and its teachings. The mission and vision of the church revolves around the Great Commission and God’s greatest commandments. The church is striving to be a multi-cultural church and reach people of all walks of life. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) that would mostly be focused on reaching youth and young adults. This position starts immediately.
Qualifications:
- Theological education: Bachelors or higher from an accredited North American Bible University/Seminary
- Agreement with MPCC’s statement of faith, vision and mission
- Called by God to the ministry
- Must be zealous to work with youth and young adults
- Self-starter and able to work without direct supervision
- Relational style of leadership, outreach and ministry
- Ability to motivate people to know and serve God
- Effective interpersonal skills with youth and young adults
- Strong administrative, communication, technological and leadership skills
- Able to work well both in team situations and independently
- Fluent in English
- A Clear Police Criminal Record check (current or able to obtain one)
- The successful applicant can legally work in Canada
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the church life of MPCC and its Sunday worship services
- Develop overall strategies for outreach and discipleship for youth and young adults
- Disciple people intentionally, individually and in group setting
- Plan and lead youth and young adults fellowship events
- Organize and lead events for the community and families
- Coordinate and execute youth and young adults programs in the community center
- Preach and teach as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the English Pastor
- Report and work under the guidance of the English Pastor
Compensation:
$35,000-$40,000 (Commensurate to education, training and experience)
