Position Description

Has the Lord placed a Pastoral call to ministry on your life?

Do you enjoy the warmth and closeness of small town, rural life?

Good Shepherd Community Church (an Evangelical Free Church) may be just the place for you.

Vision: That the spirit of God would give us a passion for Christ, a hunger for His word, and a burden for the lost.

As a church body, we are looking for a pastor who not only loves Jesus, but loves His flock, has an ability to connect with folks and wants to become involved with our church body and the community as a whole.  The successful candidate should possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

We would consider both a full-time or part-time position and as such, we are willing to work with any potential candidate.
The GSCC came into existence as a group of people who left the United Church 30 years ago. We are a relatively small congregation with probably 30 being our average attendance. With affordable housing, we've seen shift in our community the last number of years with people moving into town from other areas. We see this as a need to reach out to these newcomers.
Approximately 10 years ago, after being a stand alone church, we voted in favour of joining the Evangelical Church of Canada. Our last pastor and his wife left our body to work in the mission field in the Ukraine in April of 2018. Since then, we have been without a pastor.

We have a very dedicated core of gifted, hard working, Godly people and look forward to what God has in store for our congregation.

The Town of Cut Knife is a small agriculturally based community thirty minutes west of North Battleford, Saskatchewan with a population of 600 people and probably another 600 in the immediate trading area.  Lloydminster is one hour to the north-west so all major services are within easy reach.

Cut Knife itself is a quiet, friendly town which has the following services: grocery store, post office, hardware store, medical clinic, Health Center, 30 bed Special Care Home, community hall, skating rink, RCMP, some manufacturing, one restaurant, hotel and bar, motel, pharmacy, Credit Union, bowling alley, library, Fire & Rescue Department, two grain companies, K-12 schooling with approximately 300 students, bulk fuel, garage and gas station, senior's drop in center, handy van, accountant, as well as a beautiful park with trout pond and museum.

The museum features some of the rich history of the native people's of our area. There are three First Nations communities within 15 miles of Cut Knife.

Fifteen minutes from Cut Knife is Atton's Lake which is a beautiful Regional Park, excellent for fishing, swimming and water sports.

There are approximately 200 cottages and campsites as well as a 9 hole, grass green golf course.

Approximately 25 minutes to the east of Cut Knife is Table Mountain, well known through the Province as a premier skiing and snow boarding destination.

There is also excellent opportunity for a number of part time jobs.

With four other churches in the community and surrounding area, we also see a need to further God's kingdom together.
