Position Description

Job Title:     Career and Life Management Workshop Coordinator

Duration:      July 16 to August 23               Time:     30 hours/week, 6 weeks total

Location:     Calvary Logos Baptist Church        Paid:     $14/hour


  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number
  • Police reference check and two references will be requested


  • Must be an experienced coach or mentor for community youth
  • Must be eager to help youth from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
  • Must be a person with integrity; beliefs and values in agreement with our organization is an asset
  • Education in career and life management, human resources, or equivalent is an asset
  • Well-versed in using social media and web apps to reach out to youth
  • Experienced in setting up web forms and pages to promote programs
  • Thrive in working in a team environment with other leaders
  • Ability to adapt to a continually evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Able to have fun and create an engaging and positive environment

Role/Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Facilitate workshops that help community youth discover their own interests, strengths and weaknesses
  • Help youth explore different career and educational paths
  • Explore community resources to help train and develop youth
  • Teach youth how to write résumé and prepare them for interviews
  • Create mentoring relationships with community youth with a focus on facilitating the development of appropriate and supportive social relationships with peers and adults
  • Provide and receive feedback to and from supervisor and other support staff
  • Work with leaders to align programs to the vision and mission of the church
  • Able to have fun and create an engaging and positive environment
