The Awana Ministry

Awana’s vision is that all kids would come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ through hearing the Gospel, believing and receiving the great gift of salvation.  Our team works towards this vision by partnering with the local church across Canada. Through partnership we are able to reach kids with with well designed materials and equip leaders through training.

Position Overview

We are hiring a Ministry Support Coordinator. Our new team member will work between 25 and 30 hours per week. This person will work with our national team and with our partner churches and will report to the Ministry Resource and Communications Director. While many of the day to day tasks are administrative in nature, this person will communicate frequently with leadership, field team members, customer care, accounting and church partners. As such they will be frequently asked to provide input on many aspects of the ministry including communications, process, customer relationship opportunities etc. This person will also be able to multi-task effectively and problem solve in an ever-changing environment with a positive attitude.

We believe that every interaction with our church partners is an opportunity to build relationship and this person should be like-minded. Many of the interactions with churches are opportunities to strengthen relationship through challenges so this person will have a general understanding of the overall process as it relates to our Canadian partners and be able to advocate appropriately on their behalf.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven ability to problem solve with a positive attitude
  • Strong written and verbal skills able to communicate with a high degree of professionalism
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task in an environment with constantly shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks and Salesforce not required but an asset
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Docs
  • Proven ability to learn new tasks.

The Canadian Awana head office is located in Komoka ON on the west side of London. While some flexibility can be made to work hours, this person is required to work from our physical office. This is a salaried national support role with benefits and a group RRSP option.
