Position Description

Accountable to Associate Pastor

Accountable for Assisting in building a strong youth and outreach culture at MBC

Internship Goals

  • Have fun and enjoy God and His people and grow in grace through the challenges of ministry.
  • Spiritual Formation - to build the Intern spiritually into the image of Jesus Christ in order to live out their identity as a child of God.
  • Character Development – to provide a mentoring relationship where the student can work on personal areas of character growth and spiritual discipleship  
  • Leadership Development - to provide an environment where the student can recognize and develop their personal spiritual gifts and grow in these areas for service and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • As Youth intern the successful candidate will work with the Associate Pastor to plan and organize three youth events per month for July & August.
  • The Youth Intern will be actively involved in all areas of youth ministry including marketing, promotion, planning and execution of summer events to help build a dynamic, sustainable youth summer program.
  • The Youth Intern will mentor student leaders and work closely with volunteers.
  • As Outreach Intern you will be involved in the development of new community outreach initiatives and charitable activity.  You will also support the existing outreach activities of Milton Bible Church, such as the Food for Life community food distribution program and the Children’s Holiday Kids Club (VBS) from July 15-19. The result of these activities will be a positive impact in the community of Milton.  
  • This will also include the development of new ideas and initiatives in the Milton Community, such as participation in the Milton Downtown Street Festival and developing new partnerships with Milton community groups and agencies outside of MBC. 

Other areas of Responsibility 

  • Regular Meetings with Mentors for personal development.
  • Attend Weekly Staff Meetings
  • Attendance at all church functions
  • Other duties as directed

Timing & Benefits

  • Start Date of June 24, 2019. Duration of eight weeks
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 30.
  • Reimbursement of all out of pocket and travel expenses incurred as part of the internship (excluding travel to and from home and the workplace)
