Position Description

(Maternity Leave Contract)

Scripture Union Canada is currently looking for a Part-Time Resource and Communications Administrator to support their office staff in a busy, non-profit ministry setting for 19 hours per week. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • General administrative duties - answering phones, greeting and directingvisitors, filing/record keeping, co-ordination of volunteers, assisting with meetings/events as needed
  • Resource administration – ordering resources/publications and monitoring inventory, editing quarterly devotional publications and overseeing printing and distribution, creating and editing newsletters, organizing quarterly mailing events, archiving outdated material, updating website bookstore
  • Shipping and processing of packages and outgoing mail items
  • Communications – regular updates and posts to social media, electronic communications highlighting products, publications and ministry events
  • Creation and distribution of fundraising appeals throughout the year
  • Updating database as needed


  • Post-secondary education in either Business Administration, Communications and Marketing, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational, administrative, creative and computer skills 
  • Must be proficient with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and have experience using social media platforms for promotional purposes
  • Prior experience working with WordPress, Canva, Donor Databases, MailChimp or Constant Contact an asset
  • Fluent in the English language with a high level of competency in written communications
  • A person of spiritual maturity with a professional attitude and a willingness to serve
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and have the ability to work well with others
