Position Description

The Worship Leader is a part-time occasional position tasked with preparing for, and leading the music during select weekly worship services in a way that engages our unapologetic family focus, promotes authentic worship and proclaims the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  A successful candidate may have the opportunity to assume the part-time position of ‘Director of Music Ministries’ later in 2019.

  • Clear testimony of a life that has trusted in and is walking with Jesus Christ
  • Experience planning, preparing, and leading worship services
  • A heart to lead families in worship and not just lead a worship service
  • A desire to further the mission of Family Church


  • Skilled in music direction and proficiently play a worship leading instrument (guitar, piano)
  • Quality singing voice and engaging presence
  • Has experience with the use of technology in worship (ie. lighting, worship software, sound systems, video projection, etc.)
  • Team player with excellent relational skills and a positive attitude
  • Self-starter who strives for quality


  • Lead the congregation in worship and direct the flow and elements of the service
  • Direct a rehearsal with the worship team that both prepares for quality during worship, and develops new music to be introduced in the future
  • Ensure that the stage set-ups, sheet music, understanding of the service flow are in place and ready for the start of rehearsals and worship services
  • Build the music portion of the ProPresenter for select services (correct words, repeats, etc.)
  • Recruit and/or develop new musicians, singers sufficient to carry out the weekly needs of the service and prepare for future needs
  • Attend worship planning meetings in advance of Sundays when you are leading
  • Work under the guidance of the director of music ministries and pastoral staff
  • Promote, encourage and work toward the mission of, and growth of Family Church
