Trailview Alliance Church is located in Swift Current, SK. Swift Current is a city of approximately 20,000 people situated along the TransCanada Highway. It services a much larger rural community and the industry reflects a blend of agriculture, energy, and professional services. The church family averages about 400 and currently has a pastoral staff team of 3 full-time positions. We are looking for a full-time Youth & Family Pastor to facilitate ministry to the growing number of families with children and youth in our church and community.
The Youth & Family Pastor is a member of the pastoral staff and is selected and called in accordance with the bylaws and constitution of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. The Youth & Family Pastor is responsible to the Board of Elders through the Lead Pastor. He/she shall be responsible for the prayerful use of the God-given gifts, example and guidance of all leadership entrusted to him/her, and for the direction and spiritual quality of all programs within his/her ministry.
Compensation and other benefits are based on the remuneration policy set in place by the Board of Elders. Vacation periods, insurance coverage, retirement and other benefits are indicated by the written compensation agreement. Further details are available upon request.
The Youth & Family Pastor will thrive most when able to partner with the existing pastoral staff. We are looking for an energetic person with leadership qualities who can see the bigger picture while still committed to equipping and encouraging the ministry workers. We are looking for a devoted follower of Jesus who enjoys working with people and has a positive attitude. The candidate must be able to balance caring for those within the church while reaching out to those outside the church.
The Youth & Family Pastor bears the responsibilities for the general oversight and ongoing development of the pastoral care and ministry to children, youth and their families with a priority of building into the volunteer leaders. The responsibilities include:
- Vision and Strategy
- Oversee the discipleship pathway for youth and families.
- Implementation and evaluation of strategies and programs that facilitate the expression of the philosophy of discipleship for youth and families in practical and meaningful ways.
- Promotion of youth and family ministries.
- Leadership Development
- Identify and equip volunteers for youth and family ministry.
- Encourage volunteers.
- Resource and network volunteers.
- Safety Protocol
- Ensure that the Plan to Protect guidelines are implemented and that all records are kept confidential and up to date.
