Position Description

  • Assist client and/or their care giver with their light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning (vacuuming, dusting), laundry, shopping, errands (picking up light groceries for client), and meal preparation/feeding.
  • Assist client and/or care givers in maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
  • Monitor the client’s mental/physical health in a compassionate, respectful and caring manner.
  • Able to maintain Professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Report incidents, changes and observations regarding the client’s well-being to the care giver. Document services/meals/ intake provided and output of client.


  • Knowledge and experience is required regarding the end stage palliative care needs of in-home seniors, and of the cognitively impaired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a service oriented staff member maintaining confidentiality of client and family.
  • Sensitivity towards the needs of clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Physical ability to provide program services such as light housekeeping, vacuuming, laundry, meal preparation, running errands and care of the client and/or care givers with their daily activities.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies by following procedure.
  • Good written and verbal language skills in English.
  • Status: Permanent Part-time

  • Hours: Up to 40 hours bi-weekly
  • Rate: $15.86 per hour
