Pastor

Pastor

Company: City on a Hill (English Ministry - Young Nak Presbyterian Church of Toronto)
Contact Person: Pastor Peter Yi
Location/Address:
650 McNicoll Avenue
North York, Ontario , M2H 2E1

Position Description

We are looking to hire a half-time, preferably full-time pastor, to oversee, shepherd, and lead our St. James Town church in downtown Toronto. The candidate should have completed his M.Div. from an accredited evangelical seminary and have at least 2-3 years of ministry experience. He is required to preach regularly, disciple the congregation, be committed to evangelism, and if hired, must live in St. James Town.

The pastor will be the sole pastor of this church but will work closely with the pastoral team of the North York campus, and be accountable to the City on a Hill (CoaH) lead pastor.

We hope to fill this position by April-May, 2020.

About City on a Hill:

City on a Hill is the English-speaking congregation of Young Nak Presbyterian Church of Toronto. CoaH North York is our main campus; CoaH St. James Town (SJT) was founded in 2010. CoaH SJT is a small multicultural church, consisting of members of varying ages. Our primary aim is to reach the community of SJT with the Gospel and grow a healthy, community-impacting local church.

We are Presbyterian. We are evangelical. We believe in the inerrancy of Scripture. We are Reformed in our theology. We adhere to the Five Solas of the Reformation, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the New City Catechism.

About St. James Town:

The community of St. James Town is located in downtown Toronto, within the boundaries of Bloor St. to the north, Wellesley St. to the south, Parliament St. to the east and Sherbourne St. to the west. It is one of the most ethnically diverse communities, in what is the most ethnically diverse city in the world. It is also one of the most densely populated areas of Canada, but sadly, it is also one of the least churched. It is the landing point for many new immigrants. It is also being rapidly gentrified as new condos are being built. It is a community that is starving for the Gospel.

Please send a resume and cover letter to Pastor Peter Yi, lead pastor of City on a Hill at pyi@coahtoronto.com.
