Position Description

The Coordinator of Youth Ministries provides spiritual and administrative leadership to Grindstone’s Jr. High (grades 6-8) and Sr. High (grades 9-12) discipleship programs.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Vision and Planning:
    • Work with the other staff to craft a vision for Grindstone’s youth ministry that corresponds with the theology, ministry philosophy, and goals and strategies of Grindstone church. To be part of shaping and leading as a member of the staff team, meeting with the team for regular staff meetings.
  • Programming:
    • Provide weekly programs for junior and senior high students that correspond with the theology, ministry philosophy, and goals of Grindstone Church. This would play out by leading the weekly Youth Nights and possibly meeting with smaller groups, as required.
  • Pastoral Duties
    • Pray for those connected to the Youth ministries at Grindstone (students, parents, volunteers, etc.), giving encouragement, comfort, challenge, and correction where needed. Connect with the Youth volunteers and students consistently, offering encouragement and support where needed.
  • Administration
    • Responsible for administrative functions associated with running all Youth programs (supplies, scheduling, etc.). As part of the staff team, participation in selected staff-related functions would be encouraged.
  • Accountability
    • This position is accountable to the Lead Pastor and the Elders.

This job would require an 8-hour/week commitment.
